The interaction mechanism of high speed railway and urbanization research – based on system dynamics

Abstract:

The interaction mechanism of high speed railway and urbanization is been studied. The Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway is China’s first high-speed intercity rail, which is a very typical high speed railway. Using system dynamics method, the impact of Beijing-Tianjin intercity high-speed railway on the urbanization level of Beijing and Tianjin is quantitatively studied. Accurately evaluating the contribution of the high-speed rail can give support to high-speed railway subsidy policy by providing a theoretical basis and promote its healthy development. The study is divided into the following three parts: first, the discourse of system dynamics theory and related models is given. Secondly, the curve fitting between the model variables and results of model running is been discussed. Finally, the relevant conclusions are discussed. The high-speed railway could promote the rapid development of urbanization, therefore it is needed to promote the construction of high-speed rail.
