Abstract:

In the context of vehicle network collaboration, the merging area of low-carbon expressways presents complex characteristics such as heterogeneous traffic flow mixing and frequent ramp mainline coupling disturbances. Therefore, an adaptive control method for vehicle speed in the merging area of low-carbon expressways is proposed. Build a dynamic adaptive safety distance model to calculate in real-time the minimum distance threshold required for safe merging of ramp vehicles. Based on traffic flow state perception and vehicle kinematic characteristics, generate acceleration/deceleration adaptive control commands for ramp vehicles to achieve efficient and smooth low-carbon adaptive merging while meeting safety constraints. The experimental results show that the proposed method can optimize the peak speed difference of the vehicle before and after lane changing to 0.4 m·s-1 and significantly increase its frequency, At the same time, the convergence time of speed regulation under the scale of 50 vehicles is controlled within 2.9 seconds.
